Jul 2024 to present SwipeSense

VP of Engineering and Information Security Officer

Lead a remote engineering organization across SaaS, backend, firmware, and infrastructure for a platform supporting 60k+ devices across 50+ hospitals.

Platform reliability. Delivered next-generation platform architecture while maintaining 99.9%+ uptime across two legacy production stacks; led backend, cloud, infrastructure, and firmware modernization.
Developer productivity. Built a containerized local development environment used by the entire software team to develop and test features, incorporating AI-assisted workflows.
Business continuity. Led a zero-downtime IT and infrastructure transition for a 40-person company; received the SCJ Torchbearer award.

Jul 2023 to Jul 2024 SwipeSense

Director of Engineering and Information Security Officer

Unified two post-merger engineering teams into a 10-person organization with zero attrition and continuous delivery, supporting $10M+ in annual revenue.

Enterprise sales enablement. Led SOC 2 certification and company-wide security programs across identity, access control, and audit logging, enabling sales to enterprise healthcare customers.
Cross-functional execution. Established roadmap planning, delivery tracking, incident response, security review, and stakeholder communication, alongside architecture review and release-management standards.
Technical mentorship. Mentored engineers and managers through technical design, debugging, and system architecture decisions.

Director of Software Engineering

Led architecture across cloud infrastructure, device telemetry, analytics, and customer-facing applications.

Production scale. Scaled AWS-based IoT pipelines to 10M+ messages per day while maintaining 99%+ availability.
Operational engineering. Modernized observability, deployment workflows, and operational tooling; guided the engineering organization through acquisition and platform integration while maintaining delivery velocity.
Hiring and ownership. Owned hiring, staffing, and development budget; built a five-person team spanning software, hardware, and firmware.

Software Engineering Intern to Senior Software Engineer

Joined the startup pre-revenue and built foundational full-stack and cloud systems through enterprise-scale deployment.

Customer-facing systems. Built real-time analytics and hospital-facing data visualizations to support hand-hygiene improvement, alongside device-telemetry backends, ingestion pipelines, and reporting.
